Allianz has been recognised as Australian General Insurer of the Year at the 2019 Insurance Business Australia Awards.
The second annual awards, hosted in Sydney on Friday evening by Insurance Business Australia and Key Media, recognises businesses and individuals for their achievements and contributions to the insurance industry over the past twelve months.
Allianz was awarded Australian General Insurer of the Year for the strength of its products, its focus on service innovations for customers, and overall support to the insurance intermediary channel.
Allianz Australia Managing Director, Richard Feledy, commented:
“It’s exciting to see Allianz recognised by the industry for our achievements and hard work, and I’m incredibly proud of our team. In many ways, the past year has been a challenging one for our industry, but we remain focused on delivering the best possible service for the millions of customers and business who trust us to insure their treasured assets.”
Allianz received further recognition from Insurance Business Australia as a finalist for 2019 Best Community Engagement Program and 2019 Claims Team of the Year. This recognition comes after the Claims Team received the Gold Mansfield Award for Overall Excellence in Claims in 2018 for their commitment to outstanding claims service.
Allianz employee James Lee also received recognition as winner of the 2019 General Insurer BDM of the Year, and an additional two employees of Allianz - Thomas Williams and Marilyn de Francesco - were recognised as finalists. Nominations for these awards come directly from the broker community and each individual is assessed on their accessibility and communication with broker clients, their demonstrated understanding of brokers’ businesses, and how they add value to the insurance intermediary channel.
