Yes, you can purchase a 6-month term for your light vehicle if it weighs less than 4.5 tonnes. To do this, you’ll need to pay for both the CTP Insurance and registration within 21 days of the due date, otherwise you’ll have to renew for 12 months.

In NSW, you can renew your registration up to 3 months after the expiry date. It’s important to note that once your registration expires, your vehicle becomes unregistered and it’s illegal to drive. It can also mean that your vehicle isn’t covered by CTP Insurance.

If your registration has been expired for more than 3 months, it’s automatically cancelled and you’ll need to re-register the vehicle. You’ll need to get a safety and identity check, also known as a "blue slip" instead of a standard.

The cost of a CTP Green Slip can differ from one insurer to another in NSW. As all insurers provide the same level of coverage, it's important to get a good price from a trusted brand.

Several factors can influence the price, such as your driving history, including any demerit points, your age, and the age and type of your vehicle. For instance, utes and light commercial vehicles usually cost more than regular cars.

The price you pay also includes the Fund Levy and GST. The Fund Levy helps cover ambulance and initial hospital fees, as well as lifetime care for those who are severely injured.

Yes. When you get a quote for CTP insurance, you’ll be asked about your driving history, including any demerit points you've received. This information helps assess your risk profile and makes sure that you're offered the best premium. Many insurers provide discounts for safe drivers, so if you haven't received any demerit points, you might benefit from lower premiums.

You can pay for your Green Slip up to 42 days before your registration is due. You’ll need a CTP Green Slip Insurance policy before you can register your vehicle in NSW.

If you want to pay for your Green Slip earlier than this, or later than your registration's due date, there are some extra things you have to do.
