How will the digital payment process work?
Commencing in October 2024, we’ll stop issuing cheques. Instead, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) will be the main way to receive secure digital payments direct to your nominated bank account.
If we need to pay you, but you’re not set up for EFT, we’ll let you know the next steps. We’ll send you an email or a letter, depending on your contact preference, asking you to call us.
When you call us, we’ll ask you a few questions to check it’s you. Have your bank details ready and we’ll set up the digital payment to your bank account.
If we haven’t heard from you, we’ll call you to set up your digital payment. Remember, we’ll never ask for your passwords or codes.
Payments that are moving to EFT include policy refunds, customer claims, and supplier payments.

Frequently asked questions
We’ll send you an email or a letter, whichever you chose as your preferred contact. If we haven’t heard from you, we’ll send you a text message (SMS). If we still haven’t heard from you, we’ll call you.
We care about your security. If you’re unsure whether a phone call is genuinely from Allianz, please call us back on 13 1000. For other ways to contact us, visit our Contact Us page. Remember, we’ll never ask you for your passwords or codes.
Refunds can take up to 15 business days. This allows for any pending payments to clear and for the bank to process the refund into your account.
If we can’t reach you or you haven’t been able to contact us, we’ll follow the unclaimed money process. This means we’ll send your refund, as unclaimed money, to the relevant state authority. For further details, visit our Unclaimed Money page.
Cheques may become stale after 15 months, which means you might not be able to bank them. If your Allianz cheque is older than 15 months, or you've mislaid it, let us know so we can arrange payment for you.
