Allianz Australia National Manager Disaster and Recovery, Scott Cooper, said: “Allianz is continuing to provide care for our customers across flood affected areas in the NT and Queensland, to help them get back on their feet.
“You don’t need to book an appointment at our recovery centres, just head down. We will assist in explaining your policy and the claims process, help to lodge claims, book assessments, and arrange temporary accommodation if needed. We are continuing to monitor upcoming weather conditions closely to ensure we can continue supporting our customers.”
Allianz encourages customers affected by the floods to take the below actions:
Lodge your claim:
- For customers needing to make a claim, the Allianz team is available 24/7 for new claims lodgment on 13 10 13, and customers can also claim online at allianz.com.au/claims.
- You can lodge your claim without being at home or having a copy of your policy, as we already have your details on file.
- Food spoilage claims can be fast tracked through Allianz’s new agentic AI solution, and no excess is applicable.
- Allianz can also process motor claims without needing to send a claims assessor to view the car in person. Where it is safe to do so, customers should capture photos of the damaged car including VIN numbers, license plates and the odometer to assist with the claim.
Start the cleanup process:
- Only enter your home if authorities say it is safe to do so.
- Stay away from fallen powerlines and debris.
- If you have been able to safely return to your home, ensure electricity and gas supplies are switched off before re-entering. Refer to providers for assistance if unsure.
- You can start the clean-up process without waiting for an insurance assessor to arrive. Anything that got wet may be contaminated by sewage or chemicals in the floodwater so wear protective gloves and mask when disinfecting.
- Create an inventory and capture photos of damaged items, including their model numbers, to assist us in facilitating their replacement.
Access support if you need it:
- Allianz also offers free, confidential counselling support for customers, distribution partners and their immediate families who have been affected by a natural catastrophic event. Calls are handled by Assure Programs and bookings can be made 24/7 via 1800 955 599. For more information, visit Allianz’s counselling support page.
