Allianz wraps up Be Inspired to Win competition

Congratulations to three lucky car, home and small business insurance Allianz customers who won a Mazda CX-5, a $200,000 home makeover and a $50,000 small business prize pack, respectively.

Customers were automatically entered into Allianz’s Be Inspired to Win competition for taking out or renewing their insurance policy, with the winners receiving their prizes this month.

Allianz Australia Group Marketing Manager Sascha Hunt said: “Being insured with Allianz means customers can relax knowing we’ve got their back. We hope our winners are inspired to go and live the life they’ve always dreamed of.”

We spoke to each of our winners to hear what they plan to do with their prizes.

Car prize winner
Wayne, who received a call to let him know he’d won the Mazda CX-5 and $10,000 to spend on a road trip of his choice, was very sceptical at first.

“When speaking to the person from Allianz’s marketing department, I thought it was a joke and just went along with it – and might’ve been a little rude. Later I called Allianz’s contact centre to check if there had been a competition, and found out that the winner had in fact been drawn that morning; and that’s when I realised I owed her an apology!” Wayne said.

While Wayne hasn’t yet had time to work out where he’ll go and what he’ll do for his road trip, it seems the Mazda will be going to a very deserving winner – and at a really good time.

“I work in transport, and really enjoy cars and driving. I have test-driven the Mazda CX-5 before and thought it was a great car, so I’m really excited to become the proud owner of one,” he said.

“Also, winning the car helped end 2017 on a higher note for me. The day before, I’d had some bad news, so getting this phone call the next day helped turn the year around a bit.” Wayne said.

Home prize winner
For 38-year-old Franky, winner of the home insurance prize, the $200,000 will go a long way towards the new house he is building in Romsey, Victoria, with his partner, Josephine.

The prize includes a consultation with celebrity interior designer Darren Palmer and a team of experts who will help Franky spend the money wisely.

“We’re very open to inspiration from the experts on how we can build our dream family home,” Franky said.

“I’d love to build a great deck, get creative with our rumpus room, update some furniture, or create something really special for the nursery and four-year-old’s bedroom.”

Small business prize winner
In Tropical North Queensland, Simone said she was thrilled to win $50,000 for taking out her business insurances with Allianz.

“My husband and I take out our personal liability insurances with Allianz for our businesses and I’m incredibly excited and grateful to Allianz for essentially putting us a year ahead with this prize,” she said.

Simone, who now works full-time in hospitality in Palm Cove, Tropical North Queensland, had a resort management business, while her husband is a self-employed plumber.

“We’re also building a holiday house in Palm Cove that we’ll rent out as a side business, so this will go a long way in helping us finish that,” she said.
