Allianz Australia Leaders Recognised at icare Awards

15 November 2018

A commitment to innovation and customer care has seen Allianz Australia’s Mark Pittman and the Customer Experience Team honoured at the icare CASE awards held last night at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.

Mark Pittman, General Manager, Workers' Compensation, Government Services was honoured for his 30 year career in the insurance industry winning the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, while Allianz’s Customer Experience Team took out the ‘Outstanding Team Award’.

Craig Wylie, General Manager, Workers' Compensation NSW, was named as a finalist in the ‘Outstanding Individual Award’ and Allianz’s Primary Agencies Team was a finalist in the ‘Outstanding Team Award’.

The 4th Annual Care and Service Excellence Awards, hosted by icare, celebrate outstanding performance and innovation by teams and individuals in the workers' compensation industry across NSW. Allianz Australia Managing Director, Richard Feledy, said he was incredibly proud to have Mark on the Allianz Australia team.

“I would like to congratulate Mark on winning such a prestigious award. To be recognised for his lifetime of achievement in the insurance industry is great recognition and a reflection on how respected Mark is, both at Allianz and within the insurance industry more broadly,” Mr Feledy said.

“The work Mark does is extremely important – supporting workers at their most vulnerable time – and he shows a genuine commitment to helping injured workers get the best outcome possible.”

Mark was an early supporter of the bio-psycho-social approach to helping workers’ return to health. Mark drove the implementation of Behavioural Insight Principles in workers' compensation management, which were subsequently adopted across the industry.

Mr Feledy also congratulated Allianz’s Customer Experience Team on taking out the ‘Outstanding Team Award’ at last night’s awards. “I am extremely proud of all the members of the Customer Experience Team who work tirelessly to ensure that the recovery process for injured workers is as quick, easy and positive as possible. This award is great recognition of all their hard work and passion.”

The Allianz Australia Customer Experience Team was established in 2016 to improve service delivery for customers in the icare scheme. The team aims to outperform benchmarks on essential customer needs, including ease and convenience and consistency and trust, by pinpointing what really matters for the injured worker on their journey back to health.
