Severe weather is expected to hit many parts of south east Australia this weekend, which may cause widespread flooding and damage.
Up to three months’ worth of rain is predicted to fall in parts of the country and we are anticipating this may cause flooding and damage to homes, businesses and vehicles.
Ensure your safety and your family’s safety
Our first concern is the safety and wellbeing of our customers and our number one piece of advice is: do not attempt to drive through flood waters.
In addition, please do not attempt to assess damage to your property or vehicles until you have received official advice from government and emergency services that it is safe to leave your home or shelter.
What we are doing to help
We are on standby to implement our Emergency Response Plan to ensure we are in the best possible position to assist you. Our actions include:
- Putting additional staff on standby to process customer claims
- Organising with our out-of-hours partners to ensure customers can lodge a claim quickly 24/7
- Liaising closely with our partner loss adjusters to provide timely help on property claims
The heavy rain and potential flooding may mean we receive more claims calls than we would normally. We have activated ‘Virtual Hold’, our automated callback system, so customers have the option of a call back from the next available claims consultant.
Allianz’s Claims Teams stand ready to respond to all affected customers. There are two ways to lodge a claim if you are affected:
Online at allianz.com.au/claims
. Over the phone on 13 10 13. Remember, you can lodge your claim either online or over the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
