Allianz recognised at top industry awards

16 October 2015

Leading insurer, Allianz, won the inaugural Best Claims Outcome and Customer Experience Award at the 2015 Insurance Awards.

The awards, hosted by Australian Financial Publications, recognise the insurance industry’s commitment to delivering the highest standards of excellence, professionalism and performance.
Commenting on Allianz’s success, Managing Director, Niran Peiris, said “we are delighted to have won this prestigious award and to be recognised for our commitment to providing our customers and business partners with best-practice service.”

Allianz was recognised for its innovative approach to using insights from behavioural psychology to enhance its processes and communication techniques and elicit faster return to work by employees following a workplace injury.

In a first of its kind, Allianz collaborated with the NSW Self Insurance Corporation (SICorp) and the NSW Department of Education to trial Behavioural Insights within the Treasury Managed Fund workers compensation scheme.

Behavioural Insights (BI) draws on research from behavioural economics, psychology and neuroscience to better understand how humans behave and make decisions in everyday life. BI theory provides a set of principles that can be applied to assist to engender positive changes to behaviours, particularly following a work-related injury.

“Allianz continually seeks to provide our customers and business partners with innovative products and services and to deliver them in ways that suit changing technologies and customer preferences. It takes a team effort to achieve this and I am pleased the hard work and dedication of our employees have been recognised through these highly respected awards,” Mr Peiris said.
