What is Contents Insurance?

Contents insurance is designed to help cover the cost of loss or damage to your contents at your home; from furniture, rugs and appliances to your BBQ and even clothes, shoes and handbags. Contents insurance covers the cost of repair or replacement when loss or damage is caused by fire, break-ins, or weather events including storms, bushfires5, earthquakes and more. Flood cover5 may be available as an optional cover. Plus it provides liability cover which can protect you if you are found liable to pay compensation to someone because you have accidently injured them or damaged their property during the period of insurance.

The amount you choose to insure your contents for is called the contents sum insured.
