Calling all coaches

Homophobia in sport doesn’t just happen on the field. It often appears instead as casual jokes and banter in locker rooms and training. It’s something that leads to young adults who identify as LGBTQ+ to be more likely to drop out of sport completely. To be specific, 73% of young LGBTQ+ athletes don’t feel safe playing team sport.

We decided it was time to do something about this. So, we‘ve created a program to help change this culture. Coach For All empowers sports coaches of every level to be more inclusive in a new and modern way. Join our team of coaching legends, Louise Sauvage OAM and Trent Robinson, and get ready to make sport more inclusive from the locker room out.

What is #CoachForAll?

For over 100 years, Allianz has been helping Australians get ready for the best, which is why we've created a new kind of training program to tackle inclusivity in sport. Having spent years sponsoring some of the biggest stadiums and teams in sport, we noticed while the number of rainbow flags in the stands have increased, the actual stats on LGBTQ+ inclusion haven’t changed enough.

Change like that takes a coach. Which is why we’ve worked with Pride in Sport to create a program that teaches coaches of every level how to take real action and create a supportive environment for all athletes.

Meet the coaches

Louise Sauvage OAM

One of Australia’s most successful athletes and Olympic Coaches, Louise Sauvage has devoted her life to helping young people reach gold medal success in wheelchair racing and beyond. Now she wants to help every young person feel like they belong in whatever sport they choose.

Trent Robinson

Trent Robinson is one of the longest-serving coaches in the NRL with three premierships, including the first back-to-back premiership in the modern NRL era during his tenure as Head Coach for the Sydney Roosters. Trent’s commitment extends beyond sport, supporting his teams as people and athletes.
