Allianz wins big at 2020 Insurance Business Australia Awards

23 October 2020

Allianz has been proudly awarded a number of accolades at the 2020 Insurance Business Australia Awards, for its product-strength, customer-centric approach and overall support of the broker community.

The third annual awards, hosted by Insurance Business Australia and Key Media – and this year held virtually – recognise businesses and individuals for their achievements and contributions to the insurance industry over the past twelve months.

Allianz employee Gordana Bailey won the 2020 General Insurer BDM of the Year, and an additional employee of Allianz – Christopher Chisholm – was recognised as a finalist. Nominations for these awards come directly from the broker community and each individual is assessed on their customer-centric approach to business development, effective broker relationship understanding and management, and how the individual adds value to the insurance intermediary channel.

Allianz also received further recognition from Insurance Business Australia with an Excellence award for both 2020 Australian General Insurer of the Year and Best Community Engagement Program. Also recognised at the awards, were Allianz Australia Broker & Agency agencies in the Underwriting Agency Claims Team of the Year category – GT Insurance was the Gold Winner and AM&T received an Excellence award. Both were recognised for the strength of their claims management in niche insurance products.

Allianz Australia, Broker & Agency, Chief General Manager, David Hosking said the award wins are recognition of the ongoing motivation and commitment the Allianz team bring to the business and partners every day, "We couldn’t be more proud to be recognised with these honours by our industry, especially considering the challenging year we've had. This past year in particular we've had to be flexible and agile, to ensure we have provided our customers and broker partners with the support they needed. Thanks to our employees and industry partners for their ongoing commitment and support.”

Commenting on the win, BDM, Gordana Bailey said, “I’m very humbled and proud to be recognised amongst such a high calibre of industry peers, including my colleague Christopher Chisholm. I congratulate them for their nominations, and own outstanding achievements, especially given the challenges our industry has faced this past year. My passion is driven by fostering strong relationships with brokers, and closely aligning with their values and strategies, all to ensure we are always protecting customers, and putting them first.”

Allianz Australia is proud to have been previously recognised at the Insurance Business Awards – in 2019 was awarded General Insurer, as well as BDM of the year, and was finalist for Community Engagement Program, as well as BDM of the year; and in 2018 was finalist for General Insurer of the year.
