Allianz Australia reappointed as a Scheme Agent within the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme

Sydney, 21 November 2014

Allianz Australia has been reappointed as a Scheme Agent within the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme, with increased market share.

Following a competitive and rigorous tender process for a new three-year contract, Allianz has been awarded 27.8% market share of the Generalist portfolio and in excess of 35% market share of the Long Tail portfolio in the NSW Scheme. This outcome makes Allianz the largest Agent in the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme.

Helen Silver, Chief General Manager for Workers Compensation, said the tender is recognition of Allianz’s performance within the Scheme over the course of the 2010 contract.

“This is a fantastic outcome, and is a direct result of the commitment and performance of the NSW Managed Fund team. I’m particularly excited about our increased market share and the opportunity we have to do even more for employers and injured workers, further cementing our position as one of the top performers in the Scheme,” Helen said.

Allianz has already commenced transition activities to accommodate the increased number of policies and claims that will accompany the additional market share.

Helen stressed the importance of making the transition seamless.

“Our key focus is to transition to the new contract as smoothly and efficiently as possible, ensuring that no injured workers or employers are impacted during the process,” she said.
