General Insurance

There’s a wide range of roles and functions within our general insurance business, including key strategic roles in underwriting and actuarial that secure our profitability, manage risk and ensure an exceptional customer experience. For example:

  • The Claims team support our customers by providing a consistent, positive and empathetic experience when they’re at their most vulnerable. They’re our incredible frontline, who are responsible for a range of activities across the claims handling process, including coverage and liability investigation, loss evaluation, injury and rehabilitation management, litigation management, settlement negotiations and fraud investigations. 
  • Our Sales team play a crucial role in the success of our business by providing high-quality service and advice and to our customers and partners, leveraging a variety of channels such as brokers, affinity partners and internal sales workforces.
     

Finance

The Finance department is responsible for underpinning our success as a truly global insurer. For example:

  • Our team of Accountants and Specialists support and deliver complex objectives, such as preparing financial statements.
  • The Business Development team drives new business opportunities through research and analysis, providing strategies for growth, profitability, market forecasts and trend assessments.
  • Our Risk Management team is responsible for the analysis of risk profiles, that prepare our business for a less unpredictable future.
  • Financial Management Reporting plays a key role in providing transparent and relevant information to management, the board, regulators and capital markets.
     

Enterprise Functions

At Allianz Australia, we have a wide range of functions that provide consultation and services right across our enterprise. For example:

  • Human Resources is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and providing professional guidance and support to business leaders and employees. Additionally, Human Resources drives our culture of career development through initiatives such as continuous learning and professional upskilling, employee engagement and recognition and diversity and inclusion.
  • Our Marketing team looks after a number of strategic an operational topics, such as market and customer insight, strategy and insurance trends. Partnering with the wider business, the Marketing team uses innovative, multi-channel positioning to ensure brand management and sales activation.
  • The Communications team at Allianz Australia protects and enhances the reputation of our business, and ensures the consistency of both external and internal communications. As a vital function in the business, the Communications team provide advice on all corporate communications.
  • Our Risk & Compliance team supports, monitors and enforces the fair and regulatory business practices of Allianz.
  • Audit’s primary function is to audit and provide advice and support for special projects, designed to generate local and global collaboration within the Allianz Group.
  • The Legal team is responsible for the resolution of any corporate legal issue, including mergers and acquisitions, antitrust concerns, intellectual property law, contract law, international law and many others.

Semester Internships: We're looking for Interns who are looking to jump start their career, disrupt the insurance industry and shape a better tomorrow. At Allianz, we offer 6 month Semester Internship program, which runs from May to November. To allow our Interns to balance study commitments with work, you'll work 22.5hrs per week across three days, so you're able to gain real-world, purposeful work experience while maintaining your study.

Graduates: At Allianz, we offer a 2 year Graduate program, based in Sydney at our Brookfield Place office. Across structured rotations, Graduates gain real-world, purposeful work experience as part of a program designed to develop the next generation of talented business leaders and transform the insurance industry.

Customer Experience: We care about our customers, which is why we hire the very best customer service professionals and people with a care-focused background.
