General

Allianz Home Insurance offers protection for your family home and contents. Landlord insurance is designed for properties where rent is being collected and the policy holder is not a resident of the property. For full details of conditions and exclusions please refer to the relevant PDS.
The Motor Burnout option covers damage caused by an electrical current to a domestic household electrical motor. For full details of conditions and exclusions please refer to the relevant section in the PDS.
The option provides even more protection - in addition to the insured events cover, it protects you in the event of accidental unexpected mishaps that are caused unintentionally and also includes our Motor Burnout option. Please read the PDS for full details of what is covered.
Unless we state otherwise in the PDS, when you make a claim under the policy, you will need to pay an excess – which is a type of co-payment toward your claim. Charging an excess also helps to keep the cost of premiums down by reducing the number of small claims. The amount and type of excess you have to pay will be shown in your policy schedule or in your PDS. If you are altering the security on your property you should inform us as it may change the conditions of yourhome insurance. You may also be eligible for a discount.

Building & Contents

These are Items that are specifically listed on your insurance schedule under the heading Listed Portable contents and are covered individually for a specified amount (less any excess). Listed portable contents covers any items in the Unlisted Portable Contents list which you'd like to cover for more than the per item limit. It also covers, for example, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, smart watches and other wearable technology. Please refer to PDS for full list of items covered under this option.
Curtains and carpets are covered by Allianz Home Contents Insurance. Contents items are items that are not permanently attached to the building. Because curtains and carpets can be removed from the home, they're classified as contents items. If you have Buildings Insurance you need to also take our Contents cover to ensure these items are covered.
Before commencing renovations it is important that you notify us as it may affect the terms and conditions of yourhome insurancepolicy. It is important that your increase your sum insured to reflect any extensions or renovations to make sure you are adequately covered in the event of ahome insurance claim.
If you are moving house, we'll cover your contents at your new address and at your old address, for up to 14 days, after you first start to move. This covers your contents when they are contained in the buildings at either your old or new address, but not whilst in transit. Please read the PDS for full details of what is covered.
Allianz Home Insurance covers cyclones and bushfires, except where the 72-hour exclusion period applies for new policies, or if you increase the cover under the policy. For full details of conditions and exclusions please refer to the relevant PDS.
