Allianz Australia (Allianz) is proud to announce it will be the first general insurer to become a provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and is now a registered NDIS provider, scoped to offer plan management services to Scheme participants across Australia.

As one of Australia’s largest insurers, with over 105 years’ experience supporting people who are temporarily or permanently injured through our Compulsory Third Party or Personal Injury business, Allianz will aim to provide Scheme participants, their families, and carers with confidence in the management of their NDIS funds, improving participant capability so that they have choice and control in the way that they access and use their funds. Allianz will have a dedicated NDIS team, highly trained to specialise in supporting and communicating with people living with disability, supported by industry experts. Participants who choose Allianz as their NDIS provider will be assigned a dedicated Plan Manager, ensuring a personalised service and continuity of care, aimed at improving their overall experience. Allianz’s dedicated NDIS team will also be trained to advise on appropriate treatment and therapies, supporting both the participant and offering value to the Scheme overall.

Also aimed at bringing more value to the NDIS scheme, Allianz will apply rigorous governance around financial management, fraud detection and risk management.

Allianz’s NDIS services are available from April 2023 and accessed via a dedicated online portal. Scheme participants and providers will be able to track spending and receive real-time updates via the Allianz portal.

Allianz Australia’s General Manager, Government Services (Personal Injury), Mark Pittman says “At Allianz, we proudly hold more than 100 years' experience supporting Australians who have experienced illness, injury or manage a disability. This knowledge of suitable healthcare practices, together with our diligent processes around financial management and fraud detection, will help to ensure services provided are legitimate and provide value for money. People are at the core of what we do at Allianz. By becoming an NDIS plan manager, we will support NDIS participants in building their capability to manage their NDIS funding, with our aim being to support participants in being independent and living their best lives.”

All Allianz plan management fees will be covered by the National Disability Insurance Scheme, with no out-of-pocket costs charged by Allianz to NDIS participants that choose Allianz plan management services. Additionally, Allianz will aim to process those participants’ invoices for NDIS approved services and support within two (2) business days of receipt, offering participants and providers peace of mind and confidence.
