Optional Contents in Commercial Storage cover

Add commercial storage cover to your Allianz Home Insurance

The information on this page is for policies starting from 20 July 2025. For customers who started a policy before this date, view the relevant Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

You can add cover for contents in commercial storage to your Allianz Home and Contents Insurance, Contents Insurance or Renter Insurance. This is an optional benefit.

It covers your contents while you store them in a commercial storage facility if an insured event causes loss or damage to them.

The storage facility must be fully enclosed, have a lockable door and be in Australia. You or someone you trust should be the only people able to access it.

We don’t cover contents stored in garages or sheds that aren't located at your insured address.

How it works:

For example, if someone breaks in and steals the items you’re keeping in a commercial storage unit, we’ll cover you for up to $50,000. Some specific items may have a set limit.

What's covered

We can cover items commonly kept in storage including:

  • Furniture
  • White goods, such as fridges and washing machines
  • Clothing, shoes and bags
  • Televisions
  • Drones
  • Bicycles
What's not covered

Some items that aren’t covered in storage include:

  • Collections and sets or memorabilia
  • Paintings or works of art
  • Jewellery and watches

The contents in commercial storage optional benefit covers the contents portion of your Home Insurance or Renter Insurance. We don’t offer this cover for holiday homes or second homes.

For more information, read the Product Disclosure Statement.

We’ll cover your stored items up to $50,000 per claim. Some item limits apply.

Relax knowing your stored items are covered against theft, fire  and more.1

Commercial storage cover is optional, offering added coverage if you need it.
