QLD CTP Insurance Claims

Call us today and our specialists will help you lodge your claim
At Allianz, we understand the significant impact injuries can have on your life and we’re committed to getting you the treatment and support you need. Our QLD-based team of CTP specialists are here to support you through the claims process.

By calling to lodge a claim directly with us, you’ll:

  • receive help completing the relevant claim forms
  • get your claim lodged faster
  • get earlier access to treatment and rehabilitation
  • have a dedicated Case Manager to look after you on the claims journey and answer any questions along the way

To lodge your claim, we’ll need the registration details of the vehicles involved in the accident. The accident will also need to be reported to the police. We can explain this process during your initial call.

Once we’ve lodged your claim:

  1. We’ll need to confirm the circumstances of the accident and determine whether our insured vehicle is at fault.
  2. Our Injury Management team will work closely with you to identify and review your treatment needs.
  3. We’ll start paying for reasonable and necessary treatment to help with your recovery.
Make sure you have a record of all your medical reports and other information to assess your claim. Keep a copy of your receipts for any medical expenses you may have incurred.
If you’d prefer to lodge a claim yourself, simply fill out the relevant claim form or complete via the QLD CTP Claim Portal and send it to us.
You can complete your form online and send it to us by email.

You can post your completed form to:

At Allianz, we’re here to assist and support you through life’s difficult times. Everyone has a right to pay for legal advice however, we aim to remove the need for you to pay a lawyer following a motor vehicle accident.

You’ll receive the same excellent customer service whether you’re legally represented or dealing with us directly. We’ll assist with lodging your claim, quickly approve reasonable and necessary treatment, and fully explain your entitlements. We’ll support you at every stage of your claim to ensure you receive the treatment you need to move forward with your life.

If you wish to seek legal advice, we recommend that you understand how much you’ll be charged so that you can make an informed decision. If you choose to be legally represented on a speculative (“no win, no fee”) basis, your lawyer is entitled by law to charge up to 50% of your entitlement1. This excludes applicable statutory refunds (e.g. to Medicare) and disbursements (e.g. fees for medical reports).

If you’re injured in a motor vehicle accident that was caused (completely or partially) by a vehicle we insure for CTP, you may be able to make a claim with us.

If a family member is fatally injured in a motor vehicle accident, you may be entitled to lodge a claim. A fatality claim may include cover for funeral expenses and compensation for dependent family members.

The CTP claim form must be lodged within 9 months of the date of accident or, if you have a solicitor managing the claim, within one month of consulting the solicitor.

For minors, timeframes to lodge a claim don’t commence until the child turns 18 years old. Call us on (07) 3023 9014 if you need more information about the time limit to make your claim.

We’ll contact you within 3 business days of receiving your signed and fully completed claim form. We’ll be in regular contact to ensure that your rehabilitation and recovery progresses as quickly as possible.

We’ll help you to understand what your entitlements are during your initial call with us.

The amount of compensation depends on the severity of the injury, impact on your ability to work, and whether you were partially at fault for the accident.

You may be able to claim:

  • reasonable and appropriate treatment and rehabilitation expenses related to the accident (including reimbursement if you’ve already paid for treatment)
  • loss of income related to the injuries sustained in the accident (payable at the conclusion of your claim)
  • pain and suffering, if your injury is severe enough to qualify for an allowance
  • care services for more significant injuries (we can explain the thresholds that apply)

Once we’ve helped you lodge your claim, your Case Manager can discuss your entitlements with you in more detail.

We’ll work with you to resolve your claim as soon as possible, but each claim is different depending on your type of injury. Common claims like whiplash can be resolved within a short period of time (weeks). More serious claims like head or significant spinal injuries may be ongoing for extended periods (months and years). Your Case Manager will be able to give you more accurate timings based on your specific injury.

Eligible customers with CTP insurance beginning before 12 AM on 1 July 2023 may be entitled to additional benefits under the At-Fault Policy.

Under the At-Fault Policy, eligible customers who suffer one of a list of defined injuries in a motor vehicle accident where they were entirely at fault, can access lump sum benefits. These benefits are payable in addition to any compensation they may recover under the QLD National Injury Insurance Scheme. The At-Fault Policy is only available for certain types of vehicles. Eligible customers must satisfy the terms and conditions of the policy and have applied for the At-Fault Policy through the Allianz website. For full terms and conditions, read the At-Fault Driver Policy Document.

From 12 AM on 1 July 2023, Allianz no longer offers an At-Fault Policy to new or renewing customers with CTP insurance.

For customers who applied before 12 AM on 1 July 2023, the Allianz At-Fault Policy will be available until their next renewal date.

If you believe you may be entitled to make a claim under the Allianz At-Fault Driver Protection Insurance Policy, contact us on (07) 3023 9014.

1. Your entitlement is your compensation damages plus any of your legal costs payable by Allianz.
