Lodge a claim

It’s important workers access treatment quickly after an injury as this will generally improve the recovery outcome and get them back to work sooner.

From 1 January 2018, there is a change in the way workers insurance claims are managed in NSW.

icare, who is the Nominal Insurer for NSW, is taking over responsibility for the management of any new injury notifications and the management of new claims from 1 January. They have appointed EML to provide the claims management service on their behalf.

From 1 January 2018, new injury notifications should be lodged with icare or their appointed claims service provider. There is an online notification form that you can access at www.icare.nsw.gov.au or you can call 13 77 22 to help you through the process.

Allianz will continue to take new injury notifications for those employers granted an exemption to stay with Allianz. We will also continue to manage claims that were lodged with us prior to 1 January 2018.

Remember, you need to notify claims within 48 hours of an injury, otherwise a claim excess may apply.
