In the past few years, we’ve been strong and flexible in meeting the changing needs of our community and customers. This timeline shows what we’ve done to help people in Australia get ready for the future.
We draw on our experience and expertise to benefit Australian communities. We’ve been able to support people and causes we care about. We've also overcome challenges and achieved milestones along the way.

Grassroots Champions cheered on Australian kids as they played their favourite sports at Allianz Stadium. This was to encourage them to keep playing sport and reduce dropout rates.

Our Disaster and Recovery Team set up in Townsville and Cairns to support customers impacted by Cyclone Jasper. They helped with lodging claims, temporary housing, and emergency payments. The team also helped and ensure customer safety and welfare, calling to check on them and offer support before claims were made.
Allianz Australia and GBCA partnered to launch Green Specs. This digital guide offers tips on how to make your home more sustainable.

Allianz Swim Club launched in six states. This program aimed to improve the water confidence of adults who had never learnt to swim.
We partnered with Disaster Relief Australia to support their ‘Big Map’ initiative. It aimed to help communities to prepare and respond to extreme weather events.

We worked with Pride in Sport to create Coach for All. This program taught coaches of every level how to help make sport more inclusive from the locker room out.

We became the first general insurer to offer plan management for NDIS participants.
We continued our support for Olympic Ambassador, Owen Wright, after his retirement from surfing.

As part of our Reconciliation Action Plan, in 2022 we commissioned the Indigenous Business Insurance Research Report (PDF, 5.3 MB). It aimed to understand how insurers can better support First Nations small business owners in the future.
Teams were deployed for over three months to recovery centres in the worst impacted areas by the NSW and QLD floods. Customers could visit our teams for help with lodgements, emergency payments, understanding the claims process, and updates on their claims. Our teams visited multiple times a year following the event to offer further face-to-face support.
We launched the High Care Self Care package. This was to support frontline workers’ mental health and help prevent second-hand trauma.
We supported customers affected by the 5.8 magnitude earthquake in Victoria.
Our disaster response teams helped customers affected by severe flooding in NSW and QLD. They were able to provide immediate assistance and expedite claims processing for affected customers.
Allianz partnered with Jigsaw to hire and support neurodiverse individuals. Jigsaw is a social enterprise that trains and transitions people with disability into award wage employment.
We launched Memory Safe in partnership with Memories.com.au. It allowed customers to create an online catalogue of their most sentimental belongings.
We launched initiatives to support communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This included giving financial relief to customers, working with local charities, and creating mental health programs.
We are a proud Founding Member of Corporate Mental Health Alliance Australia. This alliance is business-led, expert-guided, and made up of Australia’s largest employers, all championing a culture of good mental health for all workers.
During the catastrophic bushfire season, we provided extensive support to communities affected by the fires. We donated to firefighting services and wildlife rescue groups. We also directly helped customers who had lost their homes and property.
We launched our first research report into workplace mental health in 2019. We have released these reports annually and our latest research can be found on the Workplace mental health hub.
We sponsored the 2018-19 Baggy Blues Cricket Tour of rural and regional NSW. This tour was part of a mental health awareness campaign with the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program.
More than 8,000 customers reported damage from hailstorms around Sydney and Brisbane. A team of Allianz volunteers came together to set up four hail damage assessment centres on Queensland's Gold Coast, and in Milperra, Gosford and Alexandria in New South Wales. These individuals cancelled holiday plans and travelled interstate for weeks.
We brought together business leaders from the QLD Government’s ‘Queensland Multicultural Ambassador’ program for a Refugee Week event. It aimed at advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
We showed our support for Australian para-sport by entering new partnerships. These were with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Australian Commonwealth Games Team. We also re-signed with Australian Paralympic Committee (APC).
In partnership with Settlement Services International (SSI), we launched the Sustainable Employment Program. It focuses on supporting employment opportunities for individuals with a refugee background. We also launched the SSI Allianz scholarships to help provide funds for education, training, and attaining local recognition of skills and qualifications.
During the Northern Tasmania floods, we offered immediate claims processing and financial support to impacted customers. We also contributed to local relief funds.
We launched our Support for Farmers campaign to help communities facing severe drought conditions. It provided financial assistance, mental health support, and community engagement activities.
We responded quickly to the bushfires in the Blue Mountains. We provided financial aid and support services to affected customers. We also collaborated with local organisations to aid in recovery efforts.
Emergency response teams assisted customers following Cyclone Yasi. They helped with urgent claims and provided on-ground support in the hardest-hit areas of Queensland.
We played a crucial role in the aftermath of the Queensland floods. We offered emergency relief and fast-tracked claims to support affected communities. We also donated funds to local relief efforts.
We provided immediate support and financial assistance to those affected by the devastating bushfires in Victoria. We expedited claims processing to help customers rebuild their lives.
