CTP insurance is compulsory for all drivers in QLD and must be purchased before you can register your vehicle. As long as your vehicle is registered, your QLD CTP insurance will cover you for any injuries caused to other road users if you are at fault in a motor vehicle accident anywhere in Australia. If your vehicle is not registered you may be personally liable for any injuries you cause.
According to law, QLD CTP policies do not cover injuries sustained by the driver that is at fault in a motor vehicle accident. When you renew your Allianz CTP policy, however, you may be entitled to receive a bonus At Fault Driver Protection policy.
This policy is included at no extra cost and provides up to $1,000,000 of cover for certain serious injuries you may sustain if you are the at fault driver in an accident. To qualify, your vehicle must be a Class 1 or Class 6 vehicle and you must be aged 25 years or older.
You don’t need to do a thing. Simply renew your motor vehicle registration when it falls due. Your Allianz QLD CTP insurance will continue and your Allianz At-Fault Driver Protection cover will commence automatically.
