Julie Mitchell promoted to Chief General Manager, Workers' Compensation

24 April 2020

Today, Allianz Australia Managing Director Richard Feledy announced the promotion of Julie Mitchell to the role of Chief General Manager, Workers' Compensation, effective immediately.

Julie has been acting in the role of Executive General Manager, Workers' Compensation since her predecessor Helen Silver was appointed Allianz Australia’s Chief General Manager, Corporate Governance and Conduct, in March 2019.

In the role, Julie will continue to be responsible for the monitoring, coordination and control of Workers' Compensation Fund and Risk products for Allianz Australia.

Commenting on the appointment, Richard said: "We are delighted to formally welcome Julie to the role of Chief General Manager, Workers' Compensation, and to our Senior Management Team, at Allianz.

“With her twenty-year career in the field, Julie has proven expertise in leading her team to deliver productive, positive outcomes for employees and employers alike. I am particularly proud of Julie’s work within the workplace injury and claims management field, where she is a strong advocate for creating mentally healthy workplaces. I am confident that Julie will continue her positive contribution to our business and the Workers' Compensation industry more broadly.”

Since joining Allianz in 2000 as an Injury Management Advisor, Julie has held a number of positions within the Workers' Compensation division, including General Manager Victoria and General Manager for the NSW Treasury Managed Fund (TMF) business.

Prior to joining Allianz, Julie held roles at WorkCover NSW and has also spent a number of years within the occupational rehabilitation industry.
